This site has been created for the interest and safety of Public Health. Volunteers will be needed to help reply to patient's emails, make local calls to patients that need to talk about what happened to them, an unpleasant incident or mistake -- and discuss what they can do about it; also, we need to be out there vigorously spreading the vital message of medical safety and physician accountability through a VARIETY OF MEDIUMS. We will require assemblies of people to stage protests locally (nationally in time); we MUST agressively write State and Federal Congress -- as well as the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the National Practioners Data Bank -- demanding information be released. Much of this volunteerism can be accomplished from individual's homes. Providing comfort in the darkest hours of a sick person's life is worth so much to them. They will need visitors if they have no family to be with them in the hospital -- having someone to "be there" for them, to act as "watch dogs" logging activity in the hospital for them could prevent a disaster arising out of medical carelessness or just plain rudeness. These efforts to DEMAND change to improve our current health care delivery system can start now, here, with us all working together.
