These links will direct you to many sites to protest bad medical care, and to file grievances against doctors and hospitals. Some links have been created by the Health Research Division of Public Citizen (Citizen.ORG), the online version of Public Citizen, the consumer protection organization, founded by American hero Ralph Nader, in 1971. The Citizen.ORG site will provide direct access to every State medical board in the USA. However, these State run "Boards" are self governed by doctors for doctors. Foxes guarding the hen houses. To forward your complaint to a grass roots, de-politicized site for posting, please email your complaint to MedicalErrors@aol.com for forwarding to the appropriate link, we will post these sites also, once we have a complete list, but we don't want to miss any agrieved person's opportunity to tell their story! File your grievance with ALL of the agencies listed below that apply to your needs (we're Big Brother now!) New organizations are forming all of the time by patients and their loved ones who have been affected by the personal tragedy of medical negligence and malpractice. If your complaint is not with an Overlake Hospital doctor, but another Washington State Hospital, please submit your complaint to Medical Errors@aol.com for posting on the Washington State Center for Patients (currently under development). The site will be released soon with a place for patients to tell their hospital horror stories publicly to each other  -- about "incidents" that have occurred in ANY medical care facility in the entire State of Washington.

Public Citizen's Disciplined Doctor's Site

Public Citizen is the consumer protection organization founded by Ralph Nader in 1971. This site provides DIRECT link to State Boards. They offer a wide variety of advocacy for consumers and rally support to fight back on a variety of critical issues.

Contact Your State and Federal Government

Those in power, have power. Complain to them vigorously, it is their job to protect those they govern. This link will bring you to an access site to reach your Government officials. They can't fix what they don't know.

Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations

Premier organization in the US for accrediting hospitals in this country, they do not do much though, also active in accrediting HMO's. Public hearings can protest accreditations. Complain!

National Practioners Data Bank (no public access yet, pelt them w/ letters DEMAND this information be public!)

Central repository of information on physicians, dentists, and in some cases, other health care practitioners. It contains reports on medical malpractice payments and other adverse actions. A service of the US Department of Health and Human Services.
